There will be about 0. 05 ~ 0.1 mm interlayer step effect on the surface of the formed parts manufactured by the Stereolithography Apparatus (SLA), and it will affect the appearance and quality of the parts. Therefore, in order to obtain a smooth surface effect, it is necessary to polish the surface of the workpiece with sandpaper to remove the texture between layers. The method is to first use 100-grit sandpaper for grinding, and then gradually change to finer sandpaper until it is polished with 600-grit sandpaper. As long as the sandpaper is changed, workers have to rinse the part with water and air then dry it.
Finally, polish works until its surface is very bright. In the process of changing the sandpaper and gradually grinding, if the cloth head soaked with light-curing resin is used to wipe the surface of the part, so that the liquid resin fills all the interlayer steps and small pits, and then irradiates with ultraviolet light. The smooth and transparent prototype can be obtained soon.
If the surface of the workpiece needs to be sprayed with paint, use the following methods to deal with it:
(1) First fill the steps between layers with putty material. This kind of putty material is required to have a small shrinkage rate, good sanding performance, and good adhesion to the resin prototype.
(2) Spray the base color to cover the protruding part.
(3) Use more than 600-grit water sandpaper and grinding stone to polish the thickness of several microns.
(4) Use a spray gun to spray a topcoat of about 10 μm.
(5) Finally, polish the prototype into a mirror surface with a polishing compound.
The above is the analysis of 3D printing processing and forming parts, hope to provide you with a reference.
