Rapid Prototyping (RP) technology is a new manufacturing technology developed in the 1980s. Unlike traditional cutting, RP uses a layer-by-layer material accumulation method to process solid models, so it is also known as Additive Manufacturing (AM) or Layered Manufacturing Technology (LMT). The concept of RP can be traced back to an 1892 US patent for a laminated method of producing 3D map models. In 1979, Professor Wilfred Nakagawa of the Institute of Production Technology, University of Tokyo, Japan, invented the laminated model modeling method, and in 1980 Hideo Kodama proposed the light modelling method. In 1988, 3D Systems was the first to launch the world’s first commercial rapid prototyping system, the light-curing molding SLA-1, which was sold in the world market with an annual sales growth rate of 30% to 40%.
SLA photocuring additive manufacturing is an additive manufacturing process in which an ultraviolet (UV) laser is applied to a vat of photopolymer resin. With the aid of computer-aided manufacturing, computer-aided design software (CAD/CAM), the UV laser is used to draw a pre-programmed design or shape on a photoreduced surface. As the photopolymer is sensitised to the UV light, the resin cures to form a layer of the desired 3D object. This process is repeated for each layer of the design until the 3D object is complete.
SLA is arguably the most popular printing method nowadays, and the SLA process is widely used for printing photosensitive resins. The SLA process can be used to print hand plates to verify functionality and appearance, as well as anime figures, which can be used as collectibles directly after colouring.
Shenzhen JSADD 3D has 15 years of experience in the field of SLA 3D printing services, a rapid prototyping service provider specialized in 3D printing technology, providing clients with high-quality, in-demand and fast prototyping services. it is one of the Largest Custom 3D Printing Service Centres in China, serving more than 20+ countries worldwide in Global.
Currently, light-curing molding 3D printers occupy a larger share of the RP equipment market. China started the research on SLA rapid prototyping in the early 1990s, and after nearly a decade of development, has made great progress. The ownership of domestic rapid prototyping machines in the domestic market has surpassed that of imported equipment, and their cost performance and after-sales service are better than imported equipment, so choose JS, Bring Your Ideas Into Reality.
